S2 Art Race
S2 Art race this week – class
have been working in groups to design their own cars, which culminated in a race
on Tuesday, 3 March. Jamie Lee Aquino’s
Lamborghini won the race as her car travelled the furthest.
Team Uni-kitty (Melai Osinsao,
Abbie Thomson, Stephanie McKirdy and Jade Ward) won best design for their
brightly coloured unicorn/cat inspired car.

S1 and S2 Cross Country Race
We are looking for two S1 boys
and girls and two S2 boys and girls to represent the school at this year’s
Edinburgh Schools Cross Country race. The
race will take place on Monday 16th March at Duddingston playing
fields and start at 9.30am. If you are interested in representing the school at
this event please speak to Mr Kidd in the PE department ASAP. Mr Kidd

Uniform
Thank you to all those students
who regularly arrive correctly dressed and prepared for work. Please
remember that to be part of the Gracemount Team correct uniform is essential
and we will not accept anything less than your best. Please see your DHT
before registration if there is a problem with uniform etc. as this

Group tutor or guidance teacher know who this is so we can allocate them to the

Teenage Booster and Meningitis C Immunisation
Forms
Please can any pupils who have not returned
their Teenage Booster or Meningitis C Immunisation forms yet, hand them into
the school office as soon as possible.
Any pupils who do not hand in their form will not be given the vaccine

World
Book Day 5th March 2014 – Activities for the following week
Yesterday was World Book Day.
There are a number of activities for tutor groups to take part in
over the next week
1. Watch some book trailers from an S2
English class – available on your teacher’s laptop.
2. World Book Day Tokens
Spend
your £1 Book Token.
The
token can be used to either swap it for a special £1 World Book Day Book ,or get £1 off a book costing £2.99 or more. The £1
World Book Day Books are available at WH Smith. Waterstones, some may be available in Asda and Tesco too.
3. There is a Tutor Group challenge.
Various members of staff will be
wearing badges with questions relating to books and libraries. All you
have to do is to find the answers to the questions and write them down on the master
World Book Day Answer Sheet, in your Tutor Group Folder. Everyone can get
involved! All sheets to be handed to me by Friday 13th March
during registration, if not before.

Outdoor Learning Easter Programme 2015
The City of Edinburgh Council, Sports and Outdoor Learning
Unit has a full programme of outdoor and adventurous activities taking place
this Easter in Edinburgh. The programme starts on Monday 6th April and runs
until Friday 17th April 2015. Sessions
include:
Mountain
Biking
Indoor
Climbing
Archery
Kayaking
Canoeing
Hill
walking
The programme is open to pupils from P6 – S4 and most sessions
run from 10:00 – 16:00. You can book
individual days or a full week’s progressive programme. You may also be able to
work towards outdoor skills awards.
