Senior Phase Modern Languages Pupils

Modern Languages pupils should be preparing thoroughly for their French, German
and Spanish forthcoming Speaking Assessments. Please attend the GASS we always
offer and please make sure you have practised and prepared well in advance of your
exam. Remember those marks go towards your final exam. Make sure you know the

S4-S6 pupils
– Are you ready for your Engineering Career to take off?
Any pupils
who are interested in Engineering, a fantastic opportunity has come up to apply
for an engineering residential week during the summer holidays. Overview:
•
In July
2017, BAE Systems Military Air and Information will be hosting two residential
Engineering Taster Weeks.
•
This great
opportunity is aimed at 16 - 18 year olds, interested in studying a STEM
(Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) subject at university, or
planning to apply for an apprenticeship programme.
•
The weeks
will be held at Warton Aerodrome in Lancashire, home to the Eurofighter Typhoon
final assembly.
•
The Taster
Weeks will challenge and engage students through a realistic engineering based
project, site tours and product demonstrations.
•
Accommodation
and food costs are covered by BAE Systems. Students are only required to get
themselves to and from Warton at the start and end of the week.
During the
week you will be given the opportunity to:
•
Experience a
real world engineering challenge with a group project
•
Have the
rare opportunity to see the facilities used to build some the most advanced
military aircraft

Opportunities Team Gilmeron Health Drop In
The Health Opportunities Team Gilmerton health Drop-in is on every
Wednesday evening between 6:30pm to 8:00pm at the Gilmerton Community Centre.
The Drop in is a free and confidential service, where young people aged 12-25
can access advice, support and information on all health issues, including
sexual health. Pop in to say hi, join in

department are collecting Active Kids Vouchers again this year. Please
