Values Focus Week
This week we will be focusing on Mutual Respect – “We are polite, courteous and caring. We treat all people with dignity and respect”.

Promoting Punctuality

All pupils are reminded of our new late coming procedures as of Monday 6th November:


8.27am – warning bell (you should be in the school grounds at this point)

8.30am – 2nd bell (you make your way to class/assembly)

8.32am – you must be in school at this point otherwise you are officially late and will be recoded late.

Late twice in one week means below expectation detention to be completed that day at lunchtime. Pupils who arrive late with a reason from home are excused.

Water Sports Trip Meeting
All pupils should attend a short meeting at the end of lunchtime today.  1:35 in the PE classroom.

Medical Forms to be Returned to Mrs Fraser
This is a reminder that any pupils still to hand in their Medication Forms and any Medication should submit them to Mrs Fraser ASAP.  It is imperative that pupil’s (up to date) medication is kept in school.

GHS Lunchtime Charging Station
Any pupils who are low on battery on their iPads can bring them to ICT 5 at the beginning of lunchtime, we will charge them over lunch and you can collect them 5 mins before the end.  This will mean you are fully prepared for your afternoon lessons.

City of Edinburgh Central Choir

To all S4, S5 and S6 pupils:

The choir meets on

Thursday 4.30pm-6.30pm

at St Thomas of Aquin’s High School (on the Meadows)

We meet 6 times including the dress rehearsal and concert.

No auditions

Concert in aid of Childline.

ParentPay
The school is now live on ParentPay and activation letters have been sent out to open individual accounts.  Wherever possible, payments should now be made via ParentPay.  If you are unable to make payments online, the School can provide a barcode letter linked to the payment, which can be used to pay at any outlet with a PayPoint logo. 
Our aim is to become a cashless school and we welcome your support in this initiative.

The Health Opportunities Team Gilmeron Health Drop In
The Health Opportunities Team Gilmerton health Drop-in is on every Wednesday evening between 6:30pm to 8:00pm at the Gilmerton Community Centre. The Drop in is a free and confidential service, where young people aged 12-25 can access advice, support and information on all health issues, including sexual health.  Pop in to say hi, join in the activities or stay to get some 1 to 1 advice – it’s your choice.

French Study
There is French study on every Wednesday in Mrs Towers’ room. This is mainly for senior pupils but if any juniors wish to come along they are always welcome. You can also get help with homework.

Maths Club
Banging your head against a Mathematical wall?  Come to Maths club to find ways of going around or over it.  Puzzles and (mathsy) games also available.  Tuesday lunchtime Maths Room 3.
