Assemblies
Our new HT, Mr Hunter, will hold year group assemblies on Mon 3 Nov.  Please report to the Drama Studio as follows:

 
S1 Classes & teachers – straight to Drama Studio after registration

S2 Classes & teachers – wait to be tannoyed part way through period 1

S3 Classes & teachers – straight to Drama Studio at start of period 2

Senior school & teachers – wait to be tannoyed part way through period 2

Dance for Drain
Last Friday afternoon, staff and pupils were taking part in the dance marathon in memory of Mr Drain.  £145.50 was raised for Marie Curie - well done to everyone who took part!  Thank you to Kirsty Farmer for organising the event, Miss Greig for overseeing the event on the day, and Jo for leading the dance marathon.

S1/2 Handball
All S1/2 boys that would like try out for the Handball tournament that is coming up should attend a trial after school next Wednesday 5th November.

Rag Bags for Recycling
To follow on from the Eco assemblies group tutors now have Rag Bags for the recycling of old clothes etc.  Please ask your group tutor for one and bring in any clean old clothes, paired shoes, towels, bed linen and curtains soft toys before November 7th, which is the next collection date. Bags can be brought down to Mr King during registration as the container next to Mr Swans’ room is full’  Mr King

Breakfast
Breakfast is free to the whole school between 8.10 – 8.30am every Wednesday morning.  Help yourself to the healthy treats that are on offer.  If you would like to help out please speak to Miss Kennedy.

Remembrance
2014 marks the 100 year anniversary of the start of the First World War.  Prefects will be selling poppies at break-time for a small donation in the run up to Remembrance Day on Tuesday 11 November.

Career Drop In Sessions
Helen Irons (Skills Development Scotland) will be available at break times on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4 November.  Any pupil is welcome to drop into the meeting room (next to the library) to ask for advice or help with career planning.

Wicked – The Musical
A list of names is on the Drama Classroom door of those who have booked a ticket on the school trip to see ‘Wicked.’  Please check your name is on the list, and see Mrs Whyte to collect an EE2 permission form.

The Christmas trip to see The BFG has unfortunately had to be cancelled due to low uptake.  Please see Mrs Whyte for a refund if you had signed up to this trip.

Applications for Outward Bound 2015 Trip
Good news, we’ve received a good response from pupils wanting to go on the Outward Bound trip in May. There are however still some places left at present, so it’s not  yet too late to sign up. If you are still interested then please see Mr Wyllie of Mrs Towers for further information and an application letter. To go you must hand in the tear of slip from your letter plus a £28 deposit no later than the end of the day on Monday 3rd November. Remember the  cost of the trip is highly discounted for all participants and will cost £158 for the week or less if you are on the school list of pupils eligible for free school meals.
